I, as an European citizen, would rather lose wealth than bow to imperialistic, autocratic dictatorships such as Russia, Iran, Syria, North Korea and all of the other Axis of Evil countries.

Taurus is not going to change the war. There's like 600 of them in total, this won't change anything. The 4000 mini Taurus drones that Germany is delivering soon may actually do something.

I can't find anything on the page - does this mean Sliding Sync is now part of Synapse proper, without the proxy being needed? I can't test right now myself, maybe somebody else knows.

Personally, I have been in these situations remotely too (everybody in a call, screen shared, parallel things going on). I don't get why it has to be physical.

Why is it harder to mentor people remotely? Just call them, have a chat, share your screens, drink some tea. It's not rocket science, and I have done it many times with colleagues.

I disagree. Yes, the west had pretty terrible colonial past, but we are owning up to that. We introduced supply chain laws to remove child labor and extortion where possible. We have debates over closing factories because of human rights vi

Why do you think that nuclear energy, requiring Uranium, a resource that again has to be bought from another country (a lot of the supply comes from Autocracies), is the better alternative to renewable energies? Edit: And moving away from r

I personally don't care if 90% of websites which rely on advertising disappear or replace their monetization strategy with gated, paid access. I even think this is a good thing. As such, I will fight the ability of websites to monetize

"Endpoint protection" is just the new, hip term for antivirus/intrusion prevention/incident logging of the past. Why not provide immutable Linux based machines (like Chromebooks, Fedora Silverblue) which are locked down

Maybe the world can finally reconsider their use of software products that cater to security theater. And the politics in companies which lead to things like this being introduced ("nobody gets fired for buying IBM"). Edit: took o

I think there's still people who care, I know I do and a lot of my peers in tech do too. The problem is, I guess, that in times of multiple crisis which only seem to get worse, people worry about other things. I am sad though that I ag

I don't agree - modern NVME drives have secure erasure mechanisms. All data is by default encrypted on-the-fly within the flash memory, and when requesting a secure erase, the controller throws away the key and generates a new one. ht
