Not to mention the problems you run into with banning something every peer of theirs is using. That goes a long way towards making your kid a social outcast (and why in practice would be as easy to enforce as making them wear something unfa

Beliefs about abortion are not split along gender lines. This is mostly a religious vs. non-religious issue, not a male vs. female issue.

It seems trivial to you, but only because _you know to trust the message and what’s written in the wiki already_. The hardest thing about documentation is establishing this chain of trust. By coming to you and getting a verbal confirmation

It’s simple really. “All X are Y” where X is an immutable characteristic and Y is something negative = hate speech. “Covid vaccines contain 5G microchips” is misinformation. Do you have any examples of what you’re alluding to?

Wait are you seriously saying masks, lockdowns, etc. during spikes _forever_? “The covid season is upon us, let’s stock up on masks, pull kids out of school, and cancel our overseas trip”? For the foreseeable future?

Stocks vs. flows. The idea is that masks reduce the flow into a reservoir (like inside air of a building), and not just direct transmission. In your example double masking might reduce your personal intake from a large reservoir (refilled b

Yeah he lied because he had to, and he lied later about herd immunity too. Whether it was good policy or not, I can’t assume anything he says is based on fact alone.

He lied about the required levels to reach herd immunity too. Ends justify the means I guess? But it’s hard to take him at face value about anything anymore. “In the pandemic’s early days, Dr. Fauci tended to cite the same 60 to 70 percent

It can work both ways though. A single person can also invent a scalable way to sequester CO2 for example.

Unvaccinated people strain the hospital system; the restrictions and lockdowns are a response to that. Sure we could just not do anything and start triaging (deciding who gets to go to the hospital and who gets to die), but it’s not correct

Why did you omit the first part of the quote? “If the public health professionals … tell me to take I will absolutely take it. But if Donald Trump tells us to take it, I’m not taking it.” I think this is a reasonable message of caution when

I personally don’t have an issue with this decision if they also opt out of any (btw also experimental, not approved) treatments for Covid in case they do get it. You know, to be consistent. Will keep the hospitals from becoming overcrowded

A pedantic point, but hydrocarbons don’t actually “store energy”. The energy from the combustion actually comes from the oxygen! We just don’t think of it as the “fuel” since it’s so abundant. A better intuition is this: plants, etc. used e

Exactly. This (strict enforcement of terms and conditions and locking down user data) was the desired outcome of the actions taken, and will probably result in fewer leaks down the road which is fine with me. I’m actually glad they seem to
