So even if it's down for the whole month I still have to pay (and probably can't even get out of it; even without some sort of longer contract the lock in is strong). Those are some big corporation terms all right.

Interesting example you chose there. While Elixir doesn't have a "when to use/not to use", it mentions its ties to Erlang quite clearly, and Erlang has this http://erlang.org/faq/introduction.html ,

They already have. You're entering a market, as you say, where every contemporary is a super senior developer, for old, rich companies like banks, and with demand staying static...but supply dropping.

Amazon engages in dynamic pricing, meaning prices can shift very frequently (multiple times per day), -and- vary by geographic region. What you are suggesting would require every Best Buy store (or whomever) to, independently, track the pri

Auvi-Q's pricing is weird. It's free if you have insurance (whether or not insurance pays for it), and free if your household makes < $100k. If you pay cash for it because neither of those is the case, it's $360. And if in

I'll also point out, I'd much prefer a default of Elixir, than of Java. Why? Because most of my problems are things Elixir can solve well, and Java can solve moderately well, after a bunch of pain and tweaking. Default to the thin

CPU bound loads won't benefit from Elixir. If most of what you're doing is a little minimal data transformation, but otherwise shuffling data to different network locations, and you want consistent latency/throughput, Elixir

So speaking as someone who has been on both sides of that fence (and, honestly, prefers static or optional typing; Dialyzer for Erlang is probably my favorite approach there), I think a large part of that comes down to how types are used. I
