Uh, what? Content Blockers on iOS aren't scummy, they can't track you because all they do is provide filter lists to the OS, which then runs them against your browser traffic. They work just fine in Firefox. Firefox Focus provides

libimobiledevice works just fine on Linux. Your distribution's version may be out of date, but the upstream version gets updated to match any iOS changes pretty quickly.

It's a tweet with 139 retweets and 1400 likes. If you think that would influence Amazon, I have a bridge to sell you. And it's not like this was a previously unknown issue.

If I had to guess, I'd say you're being downvoted because a tweet from John Carmack is not influential enough (by several orders of magnitude) to cause policy change at a company the size of Amazon.

Yeah, my implicit comparison was to something like std::sort from GNU's libstdc++, which is introsort, a quicksort-insertionsort-hybrid. Plain quicksort is indeed not great. ips4o is a samplesort-derivative (the name stands for Inplace

Brave stopped supporting Android 4.x as well, see https://community.brave.com/t/installing-brave-on-android-wi... . The last version that supported 4.4 was 1.3.2, they're at 1.6.3 now for Android 5.0+.

I don't consider a phone that hasn't received security updates in 2.5 years "perfectly fine". I'm all for extending the life of older devices, don't misunderstand me, but that requires software updates. My phon

These plans have been public for a while and have been heavily criticised for being far too unambitious. Some of the lignite plants are not scheduled for shutdown until 2034, and hard coal until 2038. Loudly touting that we're the firs

Germany burns a lot of lignite (the dirtiest kind of coal) as well as hard coal, so imagine what that figure would be if the political will existed to shut those power plants down. To answer the question, 38.6% of Germany's CO2 emissio

With iOS 13, Apple removed the "Always Allow" option from that prompt. If you really want to always allow location access, you'll have to go to the system settings and enable it. You'll also get the "App XYZ has use

"The best camera is the one you have with you" is a saying among photographers, and the same goes for headphones. Apple realised this a long time ago, and they sell both.
