Soyuz is Roscosmos, not Arianespace. Maybe you meant Vega? But that’s a much smaller launcher.

The USB-C spec supports that, you don't need TB3 for these features. Of course I don't know whether Apple actually implemented all of that. I have a WQHD USB-C monitor (Lenovo P24h) with 45W power delivery, a USB 3 hub, and audio

Nobody can downvote submissions, only comments. Sometimes stories are upvoted beyond their merit, but that's fairly rare. Enabling downvotes on submissions would probably do more harm than good.

I don't deny that sitting in a car in awful weather is more comfortable than cycling. I'm challenging cheap dismissals of cycling as a whole because the weather is awful for ten days of the year (unless you live in a place with da

You bring up edge case after edge case. Yeah, -35C isn’t cycling weather but it’s also not something that most people who use cold as an excuse not to cycle to work ever experience on their commute. Most don’t transport sensitive musical eq

All of these points are brought up a lot, but none of them are really valid. Cargo bikes (with electric assist, if you wish) can haul a tremendous amount of cargo or multiple kids. And weather is really only a problem if you're badly e

Are you discharging the battery to very low levels regularly? That wreaks havoc on capacity. My two year old iPhone still reports 90% of its maximum capacity, but I can count the number of times I let it go below 20% on the fingers of my ha

I thought the more important thing was not to discharge your battery too deeply . It's especially bad to keep it at a very low state of charge for a long time (use the device until it dies and then not recharge it for a day or two).

Yeah I kinda have to agree. I got one of the old ThinkPad USB keyboards when someone was careless enough to list it for 25€ on eBay. It was like new! Best purchase I’ve made in a while.

I used my T420 until last year, and it's a wonderful machine. But the new keyboards aren't as bad as they were in the beginning any more. They're actually good keyboards now. I just wish they had seven rows. But if that doesn

It's a compromise. You can still get a T480, which does all the things you list afaik. But I'm glad that I can also get an X1 Carbon, which is much thinner and lighter. These things aren't achievable without making some compr

Heavy use of complex AVX2 operations causes downclocking, too, but typically less so than AVX-512. More details are documented in https://en.wikichip.org/wiki/intel/frequency_behavior -- also see e.g. https:/

The only energy input is electricity. The heat pump is used to recover heat from the exhaust air. There is no other source of heat involved, so the comparison is entirely fair.

You can buy a heat pump drier for less than $500 in Germany, with the premium brands' models around $700. Their energy consumption is about half that of a condensation drier. At German electricity prices (ca 25ct/kWh), it's n

This is terrible. The charitable interpretation would be that Dijkstra's original paper in 1959 didn't use a priority queue, either. But given the strange hard-coded distance maximum of 100000, that Prim's MST algorithm is im

I don't think the OP suggested connetorising the headphone end as something the consumer should do, but rather as a suggestion to manufacturers. Many high-end headphones already have this, as it not only allows you to replace damaged c
