I started working on KTool[0] in 2022. Here was the Show HN: https://news.ycombinator.com/item?id=32637996 It recently reached $1K MRR. Not enough for us to pay the bills, so I started 2 other projects: BoltAI[1] & PDF

It’s just my personal experience. So I mostly use GPT-4 for coding tasks and gpt-4-0314 usually gives me the answer I want, without having to use system prompt tricks like this https://twitter.com/voooooogel/status/

Haha yeah, same. TypingMind is probably the client with the most features. Tony ships at a crazy speed. With BoltAI, I want to focus on MacOS with more native integrations.

It depends a lot on the GPT client (third-party application). My app (BoltAI) does support web search (via Google Search) and web browsing (built-in) but not chat w/ PDF functionality. I built another app[0] specifically for that use c

Technically it's perpetual fallback license, which was popularized by the Jetbrain team [0] > A perpetual fallback license is a license that allows you to use a specific version of software without an active subscription for it. The

No, there isn't. If you're talking about the design then I can see both were modified from a paid Tailwind UI template. For marketing copy, all I can say is they were "inspired" by mine. You can easily check using Waybac

Thanks. By default, BoltAI stores user's API key in Apple Keychain. So other applications and scripts won't be able to access this key without triggering the OS's security dialog. Secondly, all requests are sent directly to O

I didn't use Bing much but in my experience, it's a lot harder to achieve what I want. For example, it almost always search the web for an answer which is a hit or miss for me. If you want to use GPTs or to generate images with Da

I think the larger level of success requires larger amount of luck. To he mega successful like Jeff Bezos, the amount of luck required is so huge that probably none of us could achieve in 100 life time. But for smaller successes, like build

Interesting. One of my most requested feature for my small native apps[0][1] was to support Azure OpenAI service. Apparently, many organizations have their own Azure OpenAI deployment and won’t let their employees use the public OpenAI serv

Arwes is awesome. I built an internal tool using the previous version of Arwes[0]. It's a visualization tool for a 3D scanner. [0]: https://scan-viewer.vercel.app/scans/1?tab=overview

Yes to conversion quality. For example, the official extension has a huge problem with detecting the cover. I fixed it with KTool. I also implemented custom parsers for many sites that use a “modern” frontend framework (read: SPA) And here

I’m sure it was fun working on that project. Parsing web content and packaging into epub is so much fun. But handling Amazon bugs is not :(

Not really an app for reading newsletters, but I built a SaaS[0] to forward and combine newsletters into an ebook and send to your Kindle. I’ve been using it everyday and super happy with the experience. [0]: https://ktool.io
