I can't help but think that whenever copilot is able to help with a solution, it's because the language itself doesn't allow you to express solutions concisely. I looked at the solutions in the article, and very little of the

There is a great parody made about that: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=_o7qjN3KF8U I recommend it, it's rather spot on.

Fonts? You must not be old enough to remember serial port then. Serial ports, and in particular modems connected to said ports, was the second worst thing I know in computing. At least I rarely have to deal with either of them anymore.

I don't touch type in the sense that I don't hold my fingers on the home row the way I was taught back in school. My home position for my right hand is shifted by one column, and I never use the little finger for typing. My hands

That is what I assumed as well, but when I did call back they had no idea what the topic was. Hopefully, this particular experience is rare, but the fact that it can happen at all is somewhat concerning

That would be nice if it worked. I had a call from my bank, and they before the they could even tell me what it was about, they asked me to answer some security questions. When I pointed out out how ridiculous that was, and I asked them to

It was definitely poorly written. It's correct, since they never called you, it was you who called them. But it does raise the question as to how to teach people that who initiates the contact is very important and completely changes t

Except in COBOL, data types are decimal, which means that whatever datatypes you choose to use in a modern language will not work the same as they do in COBOL. Also consider that the COBOL datatypes are directly represented in the underlyin

These kinds of questions aren't bad per se, but they should be used as a basis for an open-ended discussion with the candidate. Kind of like conversation starters: "Let's discuss how you would approach designing a simple solu

Modern compilers, and in particular SBCL is able to use type inference so that in many cases it is able to deduce these optimisations even without explicit type specifications. Or at least you can add the type specification in one place and
