I believe Blender's UI is still confusing and is infuriating to me. Disclaimer: I am an amateur when it comes to 3D modelling, but I was able to figure out pretty much everything I needed to make things in Lightwave back in the 90'

Since this is something I want to keep on my desk, not only for decoration but for actually copute things if I'm bored, I really want tone of the nicer ones. It seems around 35 EUR is a normal price.

I'm of the generation that missed out on slide rules by a decade or so. My parents had one thta i played with as a kid, and I learned to do multiplicication and division with it. I'd like to get one now, mainly for fun, but if you

This is actually a very reasonable response, if only delivered in a somewhat dismissive way. I believe the point is that even if you follow the recommendations to the letter, and do everything correctly and never even accidentally change AP

You can check Youtube for videos where people make an impossible nail-in-wood construction, and you'll see just how much you can deform it. It's quite remarkable.

Beauty is in the eye of the beholder. Thus I have no business telling you whether you are wrong or not in your assertion. However, both its grammar and spelling is incredibly ad-hoc. To someone who is a fan of structure (such as a programme

I wouldn't say there is no evidence. And as for previous behaviour, people used to applaud what they were doing when they were embracing OS/2.

Many banks will not allow US citizens to open accounts for that reason. If they have any US account holders, they will have to report to their tax authority.

It'll be interesting to see how long it will be until the policies are made available as per these regulations. These companies are not going to do this without a fight, so someone will have to take them to court first. Sadly, I think

You can set up your own server. Your name may be taken on @matrix.org but it'll be available @yourownserver.com. I'm running my own Matrix server, and it federates nicely with other servers, so you're not losing anything.

The downvotes sure came quickly on my original post. My point was that we don't refer to AMD CPU's as "Authentic AMD" in general speech. However, in Apple's case they have succeeded in promoting their own narrative.

I'm a bit surprised at the use of the term "Apple silicon". Everybody seems to have started to use it. As best as I can tell, this is a term invented by Apple's marketing department. I believe it's meant to imply th

There is also a problem where snapd fails if your home directory isn't called /home/username (i.e. if it's located in a different path). At this point snap sounds like a bad joke to me. Especially when Flatpak already ex

In my mid-40's I still get this urge to play around with "useless" things. In most cases, I don't actually act on it, and instead spend an hour or two watching videos of or reading blogs by people who actually did it. Th

Finally. For a long time it has been quite embarrassing that playing video on a modern laptop drain the battery like nothing else. Looking at the CPU usage shows just how bad it is. At the same time, mpv has been able to play the same video
