It's mainly used for CI build servers. I know of a FANG company that just stacks iMac Pros on a shelf, they will definitely be happy about a powerful rackmount server.

In my experience most plugins were actually pretty ok-ish, but just maintaining the Jenkins installation itself was a horror job. Every once in a while a bad dependency upgrade would crash the entire installation – my only option was to go

Somehow these enterprise people have turned Kubernetes, which basically was an advanced job scheduler for compute resources, into a unnecessary complex monster (just look at the LOC of kube-api). And that's still pretty decent compared
