Thanks for the ideas ! 4. is probably what I'll end up doing, the niche field being some sort of devops / sysadmin job. While reading the impressive amount of responses this thread got I realized I do enjoy helping other developer

I do some pro bono work for local teams related to my hobby. I'm afraid I would grow to hate the job and the hobby itself if it became real work .

It's a bit higher for devs. As a full stack web dev (woop dee doo) with 10 years exp I'm currently earning 45k€/year.

SRE would of course require to be on-site but I think building some docker images and checking if some LAMP stacks run fine could be done remote.
