I've found Microsoft Office to be the best deal for online storage. $70/year gets you a bunch of useful apps and 1TB of storage, or $100 year provides 1TB for up to 6 accounts. Nothing else seems to come close.

Google really blew it with the camera. Pixels are known for taking amazing shots and that's where they needed to retain dominance. Instead they removed the telephoto lens and stayed with an ancient sensor. I might have upgraded from my

I was nodding along until the author talked about taking issues that are rightfully the government's responsibility into their own hands. This is exactly the wrong thing to do -- to usurp power from those who rightfully wield it, wheth

Bivariate color ramps are usually a disaster, but they work beautifully here. Nice job!

Who would have thought some wobble would add so much to the experience. This is wonderful and I don't think it would be half as good if it didn't wobble.

What is "DesignOps"? Do companies have "DesignOps teams"? I've never heard of this -- is it real or marketing babble?

It is, but it was invented so that Mozilla could build a radically more performant browser. That was going to be Servo until they decided that replacing their rendering engine was too high risk. So now they have a radically more performant

Imagine investing years of effort to invent a new programming language to build a better browser in... and then when it's wildly successful, not using it. smh

Is it possible to have each domain open in a persistent container? It looks like Temporary Containers uses a new one each time a site is visited. Containerise, on the other hand, seems to need to know about each domain in advance.

I've found the Auto Tab Discard extension to be really helpful. It generally lowers the impact of having lots of tabs open and on startup only the visible tabs load.

Someone built our interview question :) Asking candidates how they would build a site similar to this (without necessarily all the bling) has been a great way to understand how they approach architecture problems.

I've only encountered a compiler bug once. During undergrad in a data structures course my Scheme code wasn't working correctly. Took a long time to convince the TA to even acknowledge the possibility of the problem not being my c

I wish they'd move the page's table of contents into the left sidebar and the current left sidebar into a drop-down menu at the top. I never use the left sidebar (when looking at a page on a topic, why do I need immediate access t

Han supremacy has all the markings of other supremacist movements and will unfortunately need to be confronted. Not sure when the world will work up the courage to do so, though.

Hidden scrollbars are just terrible UX all round for so many reasons: - Discoverability: You don't even know if a container is scrollable at all until you try. - Orientation: You don't know where you are in a document until you sc
