Pure nicotine can be used as an insecticide and generally doesn't have the adverse-to-humans effects of smoking, so that's not really good evidence of tobacco being nasty. There are other things you can mix with water and use an i

I recently had a credit card used on the wrong continent. I called up the card issuer (capital one), said "hey I don't recognize this charge". They issued me a new card (via next day air) and refunded the transaction. I dunno

You can easily get 300K after a couple of years at a big company (e.g. AmaGoogAppBookSoft as patio11 likes to put it). You do not need to be an especially talented engineer at such places to draw those salaries.

So start soliciting donations and hire your own professional lobbyist. The amount of whining about how the political process is broken because it actually takes work to influence legislation is a little ridiculous.

Using words like "misrepresenting" and "disingenuous" and "dishonest" attaches serious implications to the facts of the matter: "dropped out" was not the best phrasing. As Hanlon's Razor puts it, "Never attribute to malice what can be adequ

SRS started as one guy who would post lists of quotes from Reddit (iirc, upvoted comments in mainstream subs) and Stormfront, with the object being to guess which quote came from which. It was harder than most Redditors would like to admit.

There was some discussion a while ago about the tendency of Nobel prizewinners to go off into crazyland (see Linus Pauling, others [1]). I recall hearing some speculation that this was (somewhat) inherent to getting a prize. I think the wil
