eFax does it everywhere. I paid $0.99 to send a fax and ended up with two monthly statements for $16.99 that were not refundable. It's disgusting and it should be illegal.

There's some confusion here about dual licensing projects. Maybe an internet lawyer can comment. The most successful project that I know of that uses dual license is qt which offers a GPL license for open source and a $500+ per month l

This story isn't about Valve but the author sure made it seem like it was. A third party site uses Valve's API to enable users to bet skins on esport competitions. This third party site uses Valve's API. Valve is in no way in

That table layout is really bad on a large screen, at some point there's a nice max for a font and I really don't need giant fonts or text as images. That image is gigantic [1]. And that header hiding animation is so annoying. Why

These problems pale in comparison partly because these sustainable forms of technology aren't being used any meaningful scale yet. How much area do we have to cover with solar panels to power a largish metropolitan area?

Whatever the realities of the cost of solar, I tend to worry about a future in which we cover vast swaths of areas with solar panels and the impact such a thing will have on the environment. I don't know if anyone has done good studies

That's not Firefox proper, that's a webview. Nobody can build an alternative browser for iOS. As for an example of competing services that can't be installed on iOS, look to f.lux.

I don't understand why Google gets attacked when at least you can install competing services and you can't on iOS. Why does iOS get a pass? If Google built the hardware itself it could lock it down all it wants? That's the re

You're still trusting the client. Any system that trusts the client is flawed. Time to read per page varies, and if you read the original article it says the scammers are mitigating chances of alerts by clicking through a book over a t

I think you're on to something, for example the Uber app probably also uses the `true` constant in places, which could be used by `if` comparisons, and Uber could actually be using `if` comparisons all over the place. Who knows what so
