Don't think you know what you're talking about. The sanctions to the country came way after the economic, social and political chaos.

come on folks, no need to make everything about the US. The situation and evolution of Venezuela is vastly different. There are a lot of parallels, like with any other authoritarian government, and probably lessons the US opposition can lea

not really, hence the "private" part of my comment. It's placing a whole industry on top of a(nother) platform I can't control or have a say over and have to give them part of my revenue. I understand their value for a s

yes, I live in Spain. Still don't get the cryptic comment, though, are you claiming Spain will get more blackouts because the EU increases solar energy? that the EU will get the blackouts? that solar energy causes blackouts?

I have my own domain and just do <website-name>@mydomain.com and redirect everything to the same inbox sorted in folders. Works pretty well, if any of those addresses gets into some spam list I just block it (hasn't happened yet,

Spain is actually one of the countries with the most solar power generation in the EU It's also the country with the highest solar power potential https://en.m.wikipedia.org/wiki/Solar_power_in_the_European_...

shouldn't it be the other way round? if the UK doesn't like something a non-UK company is doing it should be them that go through the trouble of blocking it. If I have a website I'm pretty sure I'm bound to break some ra

Honest question. Where can I buy ebooks outside Amazon to use with my jailbroken Kindle? Is there a Bandcamp for books? I want properly created files the kindle can render with the options I want, not a pdf that forces a layout.

ah for sure, the context will matter but I'd say that if you're generating and destroying 4 billion objects very fast then probably storing pointers to those objects is already a bad idea!

▲

One cool technique is to use the packed bits to check if a raw pointer is still valid. Say you have a pool of objects, when you allocate one you give out a pointer, but in the packed bits you add a 'generation' counter. Every time

You're right, but I believe the problem is that populists use arguments and ways of speaking that are deceiving and very hard to counter even if absolutely wrong. This makes a public debate a bad platform for engaging them. For example

But you can choose, your parents can have a phone with the "lockdown" setting turned on and I can have it off if I want. How we expose and handle that setting is a UX problem we can solve. What's wrong with that?
