As someone who's spent more than the last year trying to learn handstands as an adult, they're seriously hard. I don't know how long you've been practising, but I totally underestimated how long it would take me to bal

The problem is that in Germany I believe schooling is mandatory - you can't homeschool, for example. So what do you do with kids whose parents refuse to vaccinate? In Australia they went for a different approach - just make it really e

I had no idea that the parrot emoji was based on the Kakapo attempting to mate with Mark Carwadine! That's a really funny video, too. I wasn't so impressed by the TV series, but the original book of Last Chance to See by Douglas A

I live in New Zealand, and I recently switched basically entirely over to wild game for red meat. I can buy it in my local supermarket, it's more expensive than cheap meat but actually less than the high-welfare farmed meat that I boug

How is your handstand now? Doing a decent handstand was one of my goals for this year that I didn't quite make, but I'm getting there. They're harder than I ever imagined! Otherwise looks like an excellent set of goals :-)

I've been a monthly donor to the Guardian for a long time now. Their opinion pieces have been getting more hysterical over time but I just don't read them, and I think their news coverage is really great.
