Can you speak to why the applicant age distribution is so skewed? I'd wager that older founders have more anchoring commitments, so while you can draw on a large (geographical) pool of young founders, you can only draw from the few older fo

Most people know what's fair, somewhere deep down. You know it, and they know it. Go to them confidently, tell them "You didn't pay me. I know your company's having problems, but that doesn't get you out of your debt to me, we both know t

It's standard. Actually pretty good here. It's meant to grow too, in most cases. Does UK PTO get bigger the more you work?

I don't like it either, but people are used to it and it serves its purpose. You can put it after 'mono' if you like.

There are lots of links, and a lot of them are crap (for example, most suggest garamond and helvetica). Here are my suggestions: sans: "font-family: Arial, Verdana, Tahoma, sans-serif;" serif: "font-family: Georgia, 'Times New Rom

13pt font at 72dpi is actually a pretty decent body font size, and helvetica renders not altogether horribly with these settings, so it's a reasonable choice for designers testing only on macs. That said, yes world, please don't use Helveti

Yeah, basically I found it funny juxtaposing the announcement of such a magnificent result (should it end up proving true) with such a mundane, utilitarian comment.

Somewhere, deep in a dark corner of my heart, I hope and pray that this paper is correct, just so we can keep and revere the immortal words "I am pleased to announce a proof that P is not equal to NP, which is attached in 10pt and 12pt fon

To be fair, citing upstart, launchpad, and bazaar as "upstream" is pretty disingenuous.

Yes. I was saying something about the post I replied to, I wanted to point out that it's easier to ease into emacs without sacrificing the chance to learn about it for familiarity.

C-g is quit. :) The difference is (full disclosure, I pray at the altar of emacs now, after many years of vi), much of vim's functionality is hidden if you stay in insert mode, while in emacs, you always have everything available to you (an

For those not running Apple software, http://cream.sourceforge.net/ is a good beginners' "flavor" of vim. It gives you some familiarisms to work with until you find their more powerful counterparts.

False. An evented server (at least, until they get a lot fancier and make you program with locks and such) only gets to use one of the cores, while a threaded server gets all four. Using a single core just means that the threaded server doe

I disagree. If you write ten benchmarks, and they finish in the same order on all platforms, the median really doesn't give you any information apart from how the middle one did. At least the mean will be changed if the slowest benchmark

Means and (especially) medians mean little to nothing when you're doing them over entirely different benchmarks. Why bother? A 3D plot would be a lot clearer.
