The major Desktop Environments have their own software suites that you'd reasonably call bloat (especially KDE Plasma), and then distributions frequently by default come installed with even more bloat.

I think this is a bit of an odd take, given that the alternative is that the computer just silently allows you to download content from anywhere. I don't think this makes someone any more susceptible to malware than they already were.

Under accessibility toggling reduce motion serves a similar purpose. It is not instantaneous like yabai but I’ve found it quick enough to not be frustrating as someone who utilizes spaces heavily.

I used to use chunkwm and yabai but ultimately shifted away from using it after I got an ultra wide monitor. It’s a pretty faithful recreation of bspwm and sxhkd but I do feel like that form of tiling doesn’t work that well on ultrawides. S

Why doesn’t it tolerate memory leaks very well? The fact that the system remains responsive and able to close the application indicates that it does tolerate it well. I’d say macOS in general tolerates memory leaks much better than Linux do

I feel like this claim was made largely by nontechnical YouTube influencers and some Mac fanatics talking about how fast the swap on the SSDs is and equating that to not needing more RAM. I don’t think it’s a wholly unfair assessment. You c
