Is the JWST in a state where they can open it up and inspect? Or are they just going to run simulations to see if the shock/vibration would cause any anomalies?

It's not that we have a low standard, it's that we are bound by the full suite of tools that are provided to us in order to achieve our design objective. When I am close to tapeout and I am moving a single gate across a flip flop

But, HOW do you debug Clash? For example, what is the design and debug flow of using Clash to target a Xilinx FPGA? My guess is that you're going to tell me I will have to debug the generated Verilog code?

I am having trouble understanding the usefulness of all these new pseudo-HDL languages. In all the projects that I've worked on, the choice of HDL (which was 95% of the time, Verilog, for the rest, VHDL), was never actually 'impor

Given that this stack costs $6/year, running on a $2 controller, it seems somewhat expensive, unless it is providing some sort of advantage/benefit. However, the examples on Github aren't complex enough to show what is the ad

For example, for childhood vaccines, France does it by a hefty fine (up to 30.000 Euros) and up to two years in prison if you avoid vaccinating your children. Maybe the same can be done for adults as well? We will see how they will attempt

The lead times for the STM microcontrollers have gone way beyond unreasonable. "730 days" I think is a polite way of saying "we may never supply you with this chip". I may be way off here but my observation is that chips

I just don't see Munger's angle here. I mean, why not donate the money and let the university handle everything else? What is his line of thinking exactly? He thinks the university will waste the money or something?

I am surprised that Apple sources more wafers than AMD from TSMC. Are they really the largest customer in terms of wafers, or are they getting better deals thanks to their enormous cash reserves and financing abilities?

That makes no sense. I wonder what they mean by "fake" chips? Are they simply not placing the chip on the board, or are they using a footprint compatible different chip (unlikely), or are they completely redesigning the board with

There was nothing shocking in this agreement imho. Imagine you're at the negotiation table with Pfizer/Biontech. This is somewhat expected, when one party holds all the cards in the game.

We were quoted $40 for a $4 STM32 microcontroller, by a component broker. Due to our desperate need, we caved in and paid for the 10x price and our only hope at this point is that the parts will be genuine. Sigh.
