The problem with that editing model for me is that it makes text objects much more cumbersome. In Vim you can for example do "dap" to delete around a paragraph, but you cannot easily invert it ("pad") because 'p

From the outside, it looks an awful lot like the US is marching straight toward a reincarnation of Hitler's Germany, and nobody is doing anything at all about it.

Gotta love the backseat drivers on HN who have no idea what they're talking about but still do it confidently. Hardly a surprise that the Tesla engineers come from the same breed.

You can correctly identify a bubble without being able to identify when it'll burst (which is arguably the much harder problem). The statistically correct play is therefore not to do this (and just keep buying).

Immersion as others have said. But you can speed up the process by simply getting better at memorizing words to give you a much wider vocabulary. There are various hacks to memorize things such as decks of cards or long sequences of numbers

They don't demonstrate a small government mindset. The amount of micromanagement is just ridiculous. To gain control they must first purge the people who don't follow their whims.

I'd say Emacs and Neovim fit the mold even better than VS code. By themselves they're quite bare but with plugins, addons, and your own configuration they can become anything you want (and more!).

Thumbs are also less agile than all the other fingers, so having it move around a lot is not great. Also, RSI on your thumb (especially with smartphone usage) is very common. So yes, you should probably have the most frequent keys on your t

Yes, you simply need more practice. Keyboards, layouts etc won't matter as you'll have the same difficulties you're feeling now, no matter what you choose. Practice and patience, that is the cure.

I agree with your list except for ortholinear. I firmly believe that row stagger (that you find on regular keyboards) are bad but you should have column stagger (to match the different lengths of your fingers).
