Yeah that might be the ideal way to do it, but technically you could just append the new entries and new central directory without even removing the old one. I'm not entirely sure what storage system that would make sense on, but presu

I believe the footer-only format was more about being able to make modifications by only appending to the zip file and not having to rewrite/shift any data.

If anyone wants to play around with an interactive demo of this kind of thing, check out https://textshader.com and select the "bounce" example!

The monitoring is super useful for metered connections (looking at you, Comcast/Xfinity) and I happily paid for the full Little Snitch for that feature. Super glad to hear it’s free now! I’ve tried to recommend it to people and it was

Would love to see a more in-depth article on BVH construction itself! I'm decently familiar with the main concepts but have no clue what the current SOTA looks like (is that even public info?). BVH construction is my favorite question

Not sure I agree with the conclusion. Having worked and gone to school in the neighborhood, everyone loved Eric Owen Moss’s unique style and it helped Culver City stand out from the rest of LA.

Not OP but on Mac at least I find it wayyy faster to browse the steam marketplace and community sites in Safari or Chrome than in-app. Everything about it is slow from loading pages to scrolling to clicking buttons.

Maybe, maybe not. It depends what your constraints are. The normal map probably takes up much more memory than the mesh and the shaders needed to render it are likely more complicated (though they would likely already be included in the eng

For anyone wondering, Trader Joe's sells these in the US! They're great, and they're "real" Bamba and not a TJ's replica.

I can echo this and also push back against most of the other anti-test comments in the thread. I agree that an unbounded and abstract take home test is bad, but we use an online test provider (leetcode-esque) with some custom relatively eas

Idk about conferences but Apple sponsored some architecture courses when I was at Berkeley, and I ended up interning on an Apple hardware team due to connections made at a big hiring event they hosted on campus.

What gives you the right to decide what your neighbors do with their land? Would it be "democratic and moral" if I got a group of friends together who decided that your house was too big and forced you to downsize?
