To summarize for anyone not wanting to click around their website: - $999 - Molded to your face - 2560 × 2560 per eye (higher than the HP Reverb and nearly every other headset, lower than PIMAX 8K) - 90° × 93° FOV (lower than most other hea

Out of curiosity, is it normal for the Mac-only (until now) software in the film industry to get any traction like this one has?

I have a similar monitor and if I never open a window for days it can get up to 2000 but I feel like I can keep it at ~600 just by always leaving a window slightly cracked open (not enough to noticeably cool the apartment). Using the stov

FWIW in 2016 I was at an ML team at Apple that had been shipping production neural networks on-device for a while already. At the everyone used an assortment of random tools (Theano, Torch, Caffe). I worked on an internal tool that original

As someone who grew up in California and is now in NY, I don't think that hypothesis is correct at all. And even if it was, isn't it actually less gerrymandering? Uniformly spreading the different populations is much fairer than a

I'm not sure if you're already aware of the connection, but the founder of Lytro (Ren Ng) was actually the advisor on the original NeRF paper! I took a graphics class from him in college and it was one of my favorite classes. In a

I was at the airport recently and the TSA had 3D x-rays which shocked me! Looked like a normal x-ray but the agent was able to orbit around and zoom in on their computer screen.

I have a ~100 item Notes file of stuff like this that I experience regularly on iOS and macOS. It's optimistically a list of Radars I would file should I ever work at Apple again, but I'm fully aware that 95% of Radars like these

I've had similarly bad results with CO2, PM2.5, and PM10 concentrations when I use my gas stove. If anyone is curious I have a Qingping Air Monitor Lite which I love. It's probably sucking up my data but I don't mind too much
