You don't really need to clear an area for this because you'll be using passthrough 99% of the time and won't hit stuff. You'll be able to run around a cluttered room, pick up things, interact with people, type on keyboa

Fully 3D apps and content are definitely supported, just not emphasized a ton in the keynote. I expect third party devs to create tons of cool stuff for it beyond the basic 2D iPad apps!

I think to some extent it depends on the language. In the article they talk about Swift's implementation, which by default does the slow, fancy thing (but makes it easy to do the dumb, fast thing). String manipulation in Swift is almos

I'd heavily advise not to do what they're recommending, and try out applying to trading firms if you want to break into the industry. I work at a trading firm and a decent number of our quants were all just programmers beforehan

I don't really think they have any secret sauce that AAA studios don't have, the explanation is just that they've continued work on the game after release. For any other AAA game, nearly all the developers pivot to working on

Most (maybe all?) of my cards in Apple Pay will automatically update when they expire, provided you've activated the physical version too. Which credit card company was it?

I, and many others, have paid for the Pro version of Apollo. Would happily pay more to continue using it over the official app!

I highly doubt Taiwan would let TSMC evacuate their technical teams in the event of a possible conflict. TSMC's IP is one of Taiwan's biggest assets that keeps them from being taken over and I don't think Taiwan would let TSM

Are you at all worried that by posting an open problem on HN and claiming you've found a simple solution, someone might scoop you to the paper?

Won't give my current salary because this isn't anonymous, but my 2021 TC was ~150. Another FAANG offered ~200, and trading firms all offered numbers way higher.

FWIW I switched from FAANG to trading last year and got a pretty big comp increase. I was entertaining an offer from another FAANG at the same time and it was still nothing compared to my offers in trading.

Your computer can't do any useful crypto mining if you're the one paying for electricity , but if you're freely using other people's computers then it can definitely be profitable.

I feel like you misunderstood the OP, they are claiming that Node allows you to reuse the same code to do validation on both the client and the server. By definition that means they are also doing server-side validation, and they are not re

Unfortunately WASM is not popular in the slightest outside of the HN community. Less than 1% of websites use it, and those that do often use it for malicious purposes.

A few of the datamoshing examples (Sleazyworld Go, Duda Beat) are just normal vfx and not actually datamoshing. Datamoshing is just reusing the motion tracking done by video codecs intended to provide compression in unintended ways.

I think it's a reasonably good precaution to take with a 24 year old server. I'd imagine on hardware that old you could easily get DOSed by a single mean client (or a web scraper bot with bad behavior), so a ddos isn't even n
