Eliminating path loss has always been relatively easy if both ends never move. I’m assuming they mean negligible spread over the distance tested instead of no spread.

Our tools automatically add an emoji at the beginning of commits for PRs that were approved, unapproved, or work-in-progress. I would say it's pretty beneficial because you can just scan down the git log and get an understanding of wha

It's easier in some languages than others, but I would say the most common case is in Python (partially due to ease of dropping a REPL, partially due to lack of compile-time checks). The one line of code you always should have at you

There have been tons of memes about this exact misunderstanding in SAT for a while... The first few times I heard it (as a native English speaker) it made my head turn but it's such a commonly used part of Chinese that after hearing it

I'll add one of my favorite ones: you can do Option-Command-C to copy the path of a file to the clipboard (if you need to use it somewhere that doesn't support dragging to paste a path).

I don't see how using a huge number of different knives instead of reusing the same one every episode is "the easy way to do it".

Additionally, you can power solar panels and they'll emit light! It can be used as a quick visual inspection that all the panels are working if you have a ton of them.

As soon as I saw the title I thought of the Three Body Problem and I'm glad it wasn't a coincidence!

Same thing happens when I try (emphasis on try, it wasn't that good) to draw a circle, which should be the easiest shape.

Nope, not experienced and don't plan to be. I totally believe it could be a nice experience in a different setting, but I doubt that experiencing it in the hospital or mid-arrest would ever be enjoyable.

Yep, I think the empty void feeling was only a few minutes and after that ended it took like 20-30 minutes to be able to open my eyes and regain motor control.

I dislocated my ankle rock climbing a few years ago and had to be taken to the hospital. After a few doses of morphine had zero noticeable impact on my pain, they gave me ketamine so I couldn't feel the pain of the reduction (aka pulli

I still feel like "sucking" is misleading because it doesn't change how much heat you radiate, only how much heat is radiated on to you. A better analogy would be like a curtains for heat.

The cooling system doesn't magically cool itself, it uses cold water to remove the heat that's added by radiation from people near it. This has nothing to do with the greenhouse effect (which occurs when you have two bodies of dra

The author doesn't really explain it well because his explanation breaks some physics laws, so it doesn't "suck" your body heat away. Instead, it lowers the amount of heat radiating onto you from your environment by repl

This is a bit different. A cooled ceiling cools the air through convection, but this isn't supposed to. Instead, it basically just "removes" the warm walls you'd experience in any other setting. A cooled ceiling would co

On my computer, Safari and Chrome both display in sRGB while Firefox displays in the "native" (aka wild west) RGB. You can verify this by opening up the "Digital Color Meter" app.

Most shops do have to pay somewhere around 15% of the revenue in rent. In addition to the flat cost, there are tons of commercial leases that charge a percentage of profits on top of that.
