Pretty much any decent off the shelf algorithm is faster than deep learning if you allow it the same accuracy loss.

Doctor Who is also wrong about magic and time travel existing, but it's a fantasy show so it doesn't matter.

I've had nearly the same experience! I was working on a project for a robotics class and my team could not figure out why our object tracking went from 30fps to ~5fps seemingly randomly. It turns out the USB3 cable wasn't fully pl

Would you mind explaining the qualities? I don't see how pasteurization or homogenization would change the percentage of cream or mineral content. I've never tasted it so I can't speak to flavor, and you're right about b

In the US I've never seen it in a non-refrigerated section, so I bet they just refrigerate the UHT milk even if it isn't needed to keep it all in one place and not freak people out.

That would be more efficient, but GPUs were banned to level the playing field between extremely rich and slightly less extremely rich teams. Of course, the people who made that rule probably just looked at the cost of a GPU vs the cost of a

I believe most sensors are already available to web apps, but a big burden for games would be storing assets on the user's phone as something like Fortnite takes a few gigabytes even on iOS with lower resolution textures.

Is anyone else annoyed by the amount of built in magic character strings in bash? There are times where I know a task is possible in a bash script but make it in Python (with no dependencies required and compatible with 2 and 3) because it&

As someone who doesn't play Factorio, what basic building blocks is this made from? Are there programmable objects or is it built from logic gates? To make a Minecraft analogy that more people might understand, is it closer to redstone

I'd bet most companies are incredibly happy to get an otherwise uninterested art student to listen to their presentation for $1 worth of pizza.

In spaghetti sort I think you place your hand at the top and remove the first piece to touch it. That takes it from O(n) to O(1) to remove a single piece. Of course, your hand is then a magical device that can do a reduction in constant tim

I think "crypto" can mean cryptography or cryptocurrency depending on context. Every cryptocurrency I've seen has a Dark Forest, even if it's not as bad as Ethereum. For example, if you create a private key using somethi
