FWIW I used to work there and you might be right that just walking around the circle is boring, but the majority of the square footage of Apple Park is beautiful green spaces that aren't right at the circle or even necessarily within v

The problem sounds like you're doing O(N^2) calculations at every tick because each particle has to interact with every other particle. To make it faster you should keep some spatial datastructure so that you can query the other partic

Do you have any sources to show changes in battery life? I'm a bit skeptical based on the complexity of menu bar widgets.

As long as you want a laptop with a camera above the screen, you have the choice of filling extra space around the camera with a screen or a bezel. I'd prefer the screen and in my opinion it's strictly an improvement over a bezel

The article says about 12 people plus a few extras and that 10+ left, so definitely a huge chunk of the team. Reading that line it's evident that the issue isn't Mac-specific, just that you can't reuse build artifacts across

I’d take a look at the Swift ABI article linked, it explains incredibly well how Swift handles it better than pretty much any other language I’ve seen. There are a lot more aspects to dynamic linking than a binary possible / not possib

While there is a lot of unfortunate size bloat in iOS apps (like the one in the article), including unnecessary architectures is not one of them. See the app thinning section here: https://developer.apple.com/documentation&#

Thanks! Maybe I'll write up a blog post when I have the time. This is actually much simpler than "pushing pixels" because the shader outputs a value that is just directly mapped to a char to display on screen, which means I&#

Thanks for the feedback! It looks like I got rate limited by pastebin for storing shaders so I'll have to go hunt down a non-free solution or host a backend myself to get it to work. The source is just the single page, feel free to ins

Thanks! That's a very cool game, definitely a good example of the multiple orders-of-magnitude speedup you can get by using wasm+webgl+canvas instead of my current method of eval()ing JS and writing text in the DOM.

Not saying it's a good hiring practice, but in theory shouldn't interviews match the real job as closely as possible? Trading desks can be loud, frenzied environments to do work in and if that's an issue for people then it&#x

Having worked on a few decently large C++ codebases, I can confidently say that this is not how I view things. Shared pointers might be pretty drastically overused by some programmers but have use cases, and I think unique pointers are pr

In practice that may be largely the case but it's not by definition true and still has counterexamples (Bahrain, Kuwait).

I chose the Qingping Air Monitor Lite ($100) specifically because it can connect to HomeKit, but it doesn’t require it and you can use it totally fine without ever connecting it to the network! Though you might need to connect it once if yo

Just checking, are you also using the same GPU for rendering your desktop? If so then try switching over to your integrated GPU or the 1080 if it’s still attached so you can leave 100% of the 3090 available to the network.
