For example the recent realloc change in C23. I was surprised the previously used behaviour, even if inconsistent across implementations, was declared UB. Why not impdef?

xdg-open has the nice benefit that I can just right click a file in the file manager and select "Set default opener for file type". And then it's saved.

See the second video of the broken bridge and the rocks thrown around. Clearly someone could have been badly injured if they were there. I don't think it goes through the pool, just close to it.

Just like Cuba didn't really itself point missiles towards the US (it was the soviets), the Warsaw pact nations inside current EU were used as Soviet proxies too.

That's a controversial part of it. I think that strictly, if the nodes are allocated as part of one array, it is permissible to use current++ to traverse from one to the other. While it would be UB if they are in separate allocations,

These seem to be (based on two) lifeguard rescue videos. 30 seconds of lots of kids in a pool, lifeguard jumps in and swims to a person you were not able to spot needed help, and then they help that person back up safely.

Uv has already proven itself by being faster at every step it seems like, except maybe downloading. But notably it includes unpacking and/or copying files from cache into the new virtualenv, which is very fast.

Hatch is very featureful and achieves a lot, but for me, a lot of the defaults and how it's configured is entirely backwards from what I expect. I've concluded it is not for me. My concrete suggestion is that Hatch would be better

I would use Uv - if you can handle that it's a moving target right now. (uv python, uv lock, uv sync and so on, and in pyproject tool.uv.sources). All preview features that replace similar Rye features with a more robust implementation

On one hand, open source thrives in a very well connected computer world, on the other hand, the fact that programs can phone home and update themselves every day has redefined software entirely, and not always in a good way. We are making

SC was successful in large part thanks to the community, so maybe to replicate the success, game developers need to figure out how to recreate the same thing and coexist with a robust community. I think monthly subscriptions are an absolute

I don't think it's about blizzard but gaming culture in general that caused the gradual change. Gradually lowering the bar on skills required to play in some way. Starcraft 2's F2 to select the whole army on the map is the ot

Some of the linters don't know that and enforce f-strings. I know, we can't let the tools decide but sometimes that's just what happens at a workplace..

They are on average great, but don't you agree that it's not always better? If the expressions get too long, it gets less readable than splitting the placeholders from those expressions.

I've got a lot of shortcuts set up for telescope (fuzzy finder ui in neovim). One of them is leader fa for "find around" which limits the file list to current directory and the next level down (only). It's quite useful i

It's a performance optimization for growing datastructures. If you can use all the space that was actually allocated, you can (on average) call realloc less often when the container is growing dynamically.
