An ownership consuming close(self) would make sense, but has not been added, there must be some good reason for that?

Stable-ish probably turns into full unstable due to rapid changes in the faster cpython work. Lots of bytecode changes have been done.

I would advice to use tmux. It's not worth it to keep fighting with that issue. Take this from someone that used GNU Screen from ca 2002-2024. Yep, I just recently switched, because of truecolor and because of the issue you mention. Of

Python is hardly unique there. Other trends include using docker images for tools (using all kinds of for-purpose frozen version language runtimes)

Rye was a one man project by mitsuhiko before it was adopted by astral. I think it's basically just his work.

I think uv hits everything that rye does, and with a solid implementation. With love, rye is all vision, philosophy and duct tape. uv is built by a full-time team.

Even if it's prevalent doesn't necessarily mean it's a good idea. There's always diversity in how people react to it - this is even a reason why some people move countries, to escape such things.

Well, that's another nice thing with Rust. Maybe it's not the saviour language but at least it brings clarity to ownership of values.

I think the obvious one is that the Linux kernel is no small little project, and any tree-wide change is highly non-trivial. The compressed current source release is 138 MB. A 2021/5.11 lines of code figure I found was 30.3 million. I

That kind of problem of macro expansion was well explored in a recent Lwn article.. Kilobytes long expansions for some simple operations. https://lwn.net/SubscriberLink/983965/1240798fdfe236df/ This merits ch
