This is exactly it. Time and time again you see large groups of people in this community exhibiting behaviors that show that they are unaware of normal social and societal conventions, and an inability to relate and sympathize/empathize wit

That is my number 1 complaint with Twitter. Sometimes when I write my tweets, I find that the app randomly inserts expletives and will turn the entire message into an @ reply. They must have some really wild NLP stuff going on too, because

At this point, I blame it on the assumption that Aspergers must run rampant and is severely underdiagnosed in the dev community.

That's pretty infuriating. Learn to grow callous to it, laugh it off, and bury your head in the ground and keep pushing forward. You'll have assholes from every corner of the earth say demeaning things. But now I know Steve Klabnik is a dic

The issue isn't skeuomorphic vs. flat design. Let's reframe it to be about the inclusion of affordances and constraints. What makes a tool easy and intuitive to use is the careful attention given to both enable and restrict the user from pe

I was being totally sarcastic there. You have every right to ask people for their email addresses, especially because it looks like you've put a ton of work into producing this ebook.

You're asking for my email address? What're you trying to do, hack into my bank accounts? Might as well ask for my social security too! What's wrong with just giving me the ebook without expecting anything in return? Now that's good desig

Somewhat related: One thing that's always somewhat of a surprise to me is that as genius as a marketer as he was, Steve Jobs wasn't terribly eloquent. It's something I first noticed when watching his Stanford speech years ago and continued

You know, I'd written a lengthy response to this, but there is absolutely no point. I'll say this: The type of praise we're pushing for here is of a very different type than the one in the article, and additionally, we're not raising one ki

I dunno, as someone that lacks formal education in either field yet is trying to learn them both on my own, it certainly feels like I'm at a disadvantage at times, that I'll never be quite as good as the BSc's and BA's.
