Well, I'd imagine they still can't sell it in the app, because the agency model means that they have to pay out 70% of the sale price to the publisher. After Apple's 30% cut, that leaves nothing for them. However, it seems as though Apple's

I would really love to know how big Apple's approval team is. It's mind boggling to think that at least one person personally test each and every one of those 400,000 apps.

It seems pretty goofy to solve this through a law. If a streaming service needs to limit this sort of thing, just limit how many concurrent streams a user can have.

I think the idea is fetch.io will compress the video for you for streaming, so you don't need to download the full, uncompressed version.

Yup--my camera (Canon 60D) was listed, but when I used a photo that had been exported with Lightroom, it couldn't read the serial number. Only when I gave an original JPEG did it have any success, and it didn't end up finding any photos, si

The weirdest thing to me about this Kindle is the price point--why not drop another $15 and make it $99? At $114, it just doesn't seem very appealing, but I feel like they could sell a ton of them advertising it as "under $100".

As they mentioned in the post, Urban Airship costs money (after the first million messages per month). Also, they'd need to build the infrastructure to poll the Twitter API for updates and push them to Urban Airship--definitely not trivial.

If anyone's wondering, Präservativ means "condom" in German. My favorite false cognate in German is "das Gift", which in English is in fact "poison".

I buy shoes and clothing from Zappos all the time, because of their very lenient return policies. If I'm not sure what size or style to get, I'll just buy a few different combinations, try them on in the privacy of my apartment, and then re

However, one the great parts of Dropbox is that you don't have to pull new changes--they're automatically updated on your computer as soon as someone else changes a file. With Git, you'd have to remember to keep pulling the new information

Viddler (Bethlehem, PA, remote works too) We're looking for a Rails developer. We're growing pretty quickly, so we need some extra hands to help build out new products and services. Email jobs@viddler.com if you're interested.
