How about get your masterpiece working and post a Show HN instead? (I generally prefer a product to comment on than a plea for customers).

Some might say that as many people started writing c++ compilers as those of C but that the C++ crowd just haven't finished them. Perhaps another decade? I don't envy anyone writing such a compiler. Its possible but I didn'

While pointing out that factorio has bugs is factually true, its effectively just clickbait in terms of the duration of how long they impact players if at all. I'd judge that newsfeed into oblivion. But these articles are few. The main

Same reason for me. I installed signal because I already have multiple others for video/chat/messaging apps and everyone is scattered across each of them. One more app? So what? People in the media, twotter, etc act as if there is

I regard lua as essentially trivial to embed and to use to script a host application. The ease of hooking to/from the host application written in C is very straightforward and painless. Its possible to have lua call C which calls lua w

I think this is true along multiple dimensions and across multiple disciplines. Not even just in computing. I've seen this in healthcare.

Weren't various famous people getting various BLM people out of jail? Isn’t that, not so good? Lot of looting going on. My position is that its not-so-good for these groups to get a free pass since the precedent that is set then messes

The flip side of my impromptu "rule" is that you can drop the "careful" part as long as you are comfortable with a little or a lot of mess. Obvious common sense lowers the tolerance. I wonder how others set their toleran

I've done plenty of maintenance programming. Most OO involves abuse of the paradigm anyway. Most people don't use inheritance to large AND good effect. Or they use it and create a mess. Deep hierarchies of inheritance need to be c

Antifa writing death threats is unacceptable. No excuses. If the cause supports it then they are more about violence than fixing/improving the world. Beating up journalists as they report is also unacceptable in a democracy regardless
