My experience wasn't in the trades, but I've worked 10-12 hour days with short weeks and had good results. 4 day weeks do work if you can arrange them. Especially for developers frequently in the flow state where interruptions jus

Make it 25 minutes instead. Now there's a break of time in-between allowing your brain to properly context switch so your night's sleep isn’t messed up.

I wonder how many initiatives were created solely on the basis that "the enemy are doing it or already have it". I can't help but think the soviets spent a lot of time trolling the US into creating exactly what they wanted. E

The one real answer I see is that reporting itself still needs to be policed. If someone wants to post identifying details about a person that committed a crime then they are also agreeing / required to update that post as time goes on

Freenode is kind of like that nightclub that stopped being cool, stopped having good music and began watering down the drinks. Everyone's gone to the new place. Basically the same crew running it.

I feel like there's a place for home users to rent a tape drive, write everything to tape and return the drive. Uber for tape-based storage. You don't need to own the drive. Just the tapes. Maybe not even the tapes. Dropbox using

Not being in the bubble makes it easier to see the absurdities of the US system. Also, watching journalists go after Trump for the wrong reasons was quite an eye opener. Especially when the many valid reasons to go after Trump were often no

If I search for something and it exists, I expect to see it. If necessary put the ad after the result I expect to see. Even with them labelled as ads. That is a better approach. The "its just how it is" kind of narrative isn’t gre

The whole point of gaining monopoly status is to be able to use and apply these kinds of manipulations. This doesn't make it right however. Epic is one of a few large enough to make the necessary waves to have an impact. But behind Epi

Fun with extra twists and turns you weren't expecting. Usually quite an adventure, some unintended learning and growth. Hopefully a story worth telling. As opposed to the obvious doing an activity for fun.
