I can only suggest you grow vegetables or do something tangible as your side project. Something involving your hands with real results. Do that for awhile. It will soon cause you to find something if that's a thing you want to pursue.

Fascinating. On what possible grounds can this help an investigation? The collateral damage for this would have to be huge if it became normalised and routine.

Are you sure they are ignoring your emails? From their perspective, is there enough value for them to respond? Is there too much friction involved if they do respond? Can they respond? Are you sure? If your answer is a rapid "of cour

The talking hockey puck in the corner is becoming even more problematic. One week? Why the deadline? At all? They do seem like they're in a hurry. For something that is meant to help and apparently put smiles on our faces it does seem

Since when is a program allowed to decide to delete my information on its own accord? If not me, who authorised this? Not me. Really that kind of threat of deleting documents is completely unacceptable. It implies that I, the user, don'

I'd have thought putting a linux kernel, web server, web client all in a power switch just to turn said power on/off is overkill, but hey, people are different. For me, a hammock beats an office chair any day.

Redundant calculation isn’t necessarily a bad thing by itself. That redundancy is often buying insurance against data loss (ECC?) and resiliency. A giant wordpress site isn’t necessarily more power efficient or even more secure than a distr

Mostly a way of preventing everything happening all at once. The paperwork is a nightmare otherwise. The real question around time I'd like an answer to: what if time has two or dimensions of its own? What then?

An alternative perspective is that crypto mining should be required to only use main-grid surplus or their own renewable energy sources. Then make it hideously expensive for them to not use renewables. This way the bitcoin / cryptos wo

Is that good or bad? Do you want the likes of adafruit / sparkfun and similar to exist or do you just want to buy everything direct from the parts suppliers at the source? Neither answer is perfect. If you choose direct from the suppli

Can't speak for the other aspects, but the capacitors issue was/is definitely a real thing. I know plenty of techs who spent weeks removing equipment due to faulty capacitors. Some of that equipment was worth having component swap

Perhaps hiring should measure people's ability to tolerate opposing views? It can't be good to work with people who can't stay civil in the face of disagreements. Surely that is a sign of a lack of emotional intelligence?

Most political discussions fall apart due to people's inability to tolerate dissenting views. The inability to tolerate disagreement in a civil manner is likely just one cause. The amygdala hijack kicks in and suddenly people are froth

Blockchain is RECORD of ownership. It is a database with the stipulation it isn't so easy to mess up. Nothing I wrote even asserts the legal system has no power. I'm not an evangelist for blockchain but even I can see a benefit.
