I have an editor macro that inserts _ = myvar; // TODO remove easily for all function arguments when prototyping. I agree it can be cumbersome, but I am not sure it is a bad thing.

I've been working with Zig lately (after 2 years of rust), and I have to say that the lack of borrow checker allows a lot of flexibility. You might argue it is dangerous, but in some case it's ok. I think Zig complements very well

Well, I am not saying it is better objectively, but for my uses it was easier. I wrote a firmware in rust and I rewrote it in zig as my first real world exercice, I ended up with 90% less code. Rust has really great abstraction and I like i

I meant move the ownership. For one firmware, I have some code that keep the MCU sleeping and it wakes with I2C address match. When the I2C code handles the match, it must change the configuration of the system registers related to sleep to

As a side note, I am trying zig for embedded on tiny MCU and it is a better fit than rust. Not having to "move the borrow" for register around makes the code simpler to reason about and also is important when flash is only a few k

I have a VOIP business account, and I can set any caller ID I want (including on SMS). And this is validated at the carrier level. The main use case for this is redirection, when I get a call from A to my office O, it will also call my mobi

It is surprinsigly hard to move paper the way a printer does it. The easiest way for DIY would be to use a continuous roll of paper and a very thin pen on a 3d printer like stepper motor, like older dot matrix printers.

In the area where I live (near Aigle on the east of Leman) the main problem is that there are only two tracks (one each direction) going to Geneva. Which makes it hard to have frequent stops. I live at 100m from the tracks, but I have to do

I've been blocking cookies actively for a long time, and except some technical embeds (for example STEP file viewer on misumi) I had zero issue. This is great news. I really hope we will not lose firefox. I'm not saying it is bett

As I said in another comment, I don't absolutely need 22kW now. But I am at the limit of the capacity of my current line, so in all scenarios, I would need to invest quite a bit.

no, 22kW is 32A as we use three 240V (to neutral, so around 400V between phases) phases here. Most home here have 40A capacity (mine does). You have to pay for the introduction box, which need to be changed in my case and is about 7000$ [1]

Well, I looked at our current use of the cars. I live in a remote area and car is my only option. Also the area is mountainous and after doing some testing and having the car for a week, I have about 100km autonomy with 50kW/h battery

I was talking with my car dealer as I wanted to buy an electric car. He was using the car for his own usage to get a good idea. The main thing that came out is that most available charging stations are 22kW max and very often they are share

I suggest you take a look to Phoenix Live View, it's like that (very little client side JS) with the added benefits of the BEAM. You can serve thousands if not million of simultaneous clients with a small machine.
