I really like thunderbird, and I used it for a long time, but now I am using mutt. I realized that I was spending a lot of time in the terminal anyway (using vim as my daily driver) and it did fit me. What I really like, is that you can scr

I don't like flat design. But I do like the new neomorphism trend. Not everything, but having clear states (hover default active disabled) is nice.

We use ansible on bare metal (no VM) to manage about 200 servers in our basement. We use PXE booting to manage the images. We use a customized arch linux image and we have a few scripts to select what feature we'd like. It's "

ISO 8601 is bad, use RFC 3339. A lot of implementation are actually based on an ISO draft which changed in final release. But most dev do not have access to the spec. For example, timezone can only be specified as offset in the standard, wh

Don't do something too drastic, don't try to hack your body, it usually ends in yo-yo and frustration. I've always been overweight and I lost 20kg over a year by eating less carbs (and not less fat) and move more. Practically

I love that some work is going into UI design, but there are a few things I really dislike in gnome apps. For example using a hamburger menu instead of a regular menu or icons instead of text for buttons.

In practice, there are two things: - crash on error - functions are just functions The first one is counter intuitive to many programmer. Basically you use pattern matching aggressively, like this: def full_name(%{first_name: <<

I have no hate for YAML, but I think this is the "human readable" format with the most gotchas you might ever encounter. Every time I use YAML, I got bitten by some edge case. For this reason, I wouldn't count of JSON compati
