Buying new means immediate depreciation on the value of the item. I prefer to buy used and be able to resell at (or sometimes above) roughly the price I paid if/when necessary.

Unfortunate but it’s understandable, home theater has gone out of style and been largely replaced by soundbars. I used to have a large 5.1 setup but over the years I’ve downsized to a hdmi enabled 2.0 setup. Also my Onkyo receiver stopped w

Companies are often times weasels. They will try to figure out your current salary and offer some small increase. In my experience you need to have leverage before negotiating, so I remain “negotiable” and never tell my current salary unti

> Per year per 11 million people Oh fun, I can do gymnastics with these numbers too. Let's go ahead and switch "people" for "mammals". Only 1 incident per year, per 18 billion mammals.

Assuming this was an American school this really surprising? America has school shootings regularly. Children have to perform regular active shooter drills in American schools. Like a fire drill. There are also significant pressures put

Yes, LTS support is 2 years. Debian releases are supported for about half the length of RHEL releases overall, LTS included. Debian “Stretch” for instance was released in 2017 and support ends 2022, so a 5 year cycle. RHEL on the other hand

It would be quite nice to see Debian adopt a longer term release model. In a lot of environments that was the deciding factor for RHEL/CentOS. A stable OS with security support for a decade. The current Debian release cycle is closer
