Well if you want to make these sorts of comparisons why not ban cars (cause lots of death, including children) and firearms (accidental shootings alone probably make magnets look like...well toys). If you ban stuff at some point someone has

What I don't get is...why don't governments simply declare that all research at publicly funded universities must be made available to the public. It's seems so trivial. You pay the researchers, you get the research results,

My counterclaim would be that doing ML in code is actually easier these days than doing stuff in Excel (and a 1080 is sufficient). So why not solve the problem with a sufficiently easy to use tool? Your other point is valid. If it can be so

I'll play devils advocate and disagree. I'll claim that deep learning is the greatest hammer I have seen in my lifetime and it can tackle all nails you throw at it (universal approximation theorem). Additionally it is easy to app

As a non-native speaker I would say it is absolutely necessary. You can get through university without it and you can probably get a job in your country without it but you really shouldn't. Never ever write code in non-English. I hate

Pretty much this. However I think that you can actually get pretty far with cleaning a surprisingly small subset of data and just quickly tossing together a prototype. Talking to people helps a lot. "Ok so you have this and that data..

The article doesn't convince me. It can be summarized as "don't overengineer" but quite frankly these days ML/DL is so easy to apply from a technical point of view (taking care of the data or fully grasping the thin

The main problem is that most other systems have their own biases. A typical suggestion I hear a lot goes along the lines of "if in doubt, let a human make the decision". If you think about ML in say a school context it's lik
