Absolutely off-topic, but can somebody advise on the best resource to learn the most up-to-date Python for somebody who is mentally stuck on Python 2.7-3.2? I always referred to Python when I needed to quickly write some tool for personal u

To be fair, libgen has a lot of PDFs. Libraries in fb2 or such are orders of magntitude leaner.

This will never, ever happen. English Wikipedia (w/o pictures) copressed is measly 20 GB. It is hard to quantify "all books ever written", but I have kept copies of some online libraries large enough that they for sure have p

It's easy to explain. All answers that you put in the first category are people answering the wrong question, that nobody actually here asked. They are answering the question "what was the thing that lots of other people liked, th

Everyone in Russia is familiar with Navalny, though. I mean, it's not like everyone in USA personally met Joe Rogan or Elon Musk (not sure if these are the best example, since I am not from the USA, but I'm guessing they must be g

Nice. What I really want, though is a CLI calculator (something like bc or ipython) that would be clever enough to handle stuff like 1000!/999! (increase the number of digits if python will be able to do that: I hope you get the idea).

He absolutely is famous enough to be recognisable on the phone. That's why I'm mentioning it. It is weird indeed. But kinda plausible, I can believe that. Did it never occur to you to meet someone you work with outside of your job

Just listened to the phone call. I said it multiple times how ridiculous I find that so many people readily buy into these stories. But... I don't know now, this was pretty convincing, to be honest. Not really a "proof" of an

Yeah, it seems that some people mistake minimalism for "it took me 10 minutes to build and I didn't care about the visual design". It's heavy, clunky, and even though it's text-only, it has some pretty awful typogra

There are barely 80 votes at the moment of writing this comment, of which barely 10 are a "NO", so it's a bit early for "high percentage". (Edit: Now it's 73/(798 + 279 + 73), less than 7%, so the point st

Not that I personally care that much, but the idea is that using curl|bash you can get incomplete script because of a network error, and "incomplete" can end on any command, like instead of "rm -rf /home/user/.

You sound like you are selling these headphones. Yeah, making wireless headphones with active noise cancellation is complicated, what else is new. Same as making a smartphone, or a laptop, or a car. "Significantly better than the compe

This is great and I feel weirdly relieved (considering I don't actually really gain anything from that). That, on the other hand, makes me feel sad and almost depressed every time: > It uses approximately 16 TPUv3s (which is 128 TPU

Oh, come on. Did you see the benchmarks? This is CPU-bound code, like multiplying numbers 100 000 times over. This has nothing to do with your typical use case. And, yeah, performance improvements are always advertised.

Why would you expect performace improvements? Because of JIT? There's no reason to hope that JIT would help with that much, because it's I/O-bound anyways. And function calls in PHP are pretty efficient.

Obviously I don't think it's likely, but that's not really the point. I literally laughed out loud when I read in the local news earlier today that the president of my country "congratulated Biden with his victory".
