Welfare is a method of fighting corruption though. Corruption means taking money from the public. Welfare is giving money to the public.

It’s a feedback system. The only problem is that governments tend to ignore the welfare/education/prosperity part and focus entirely on austerity laws.

I don’t think these two telescopes are interchangeable. Pretty sure the Webb telescope was designed for seeing specific light spectrums.

What I was pointing out was that you can actually see the fact that the hard drives are designed to be replaced as a positive rather than a negative. It means that the data can be moved from drive to drive without much hassle.

Preserving analog data also requires maintenance, except digital maintenance is much easier to do and can be, at least partially, automated, while analog maintenance is specialty work that can’t be automated at all.

I don’t understand why people say this. Digital formats can be easily ported over to other digital formats and the more we can automate, the easier it’ll be to port digital information from one format to another. I don’t think we’ll lose ve

The right seems to be able to do it constantly. The right takes control and the white working class goes “oh the economy is so good” while they privatize the services that the working class rely on and then strip them of all their assets .

This literally always happens during a Democrat presidency: the numbers are good but everyone goes “well it doesn’t FEEL that way so I’m gonna ignore it.” At what point are you gonna admit that your feelings are a crap metric? The fact of t

I’ve seen very blue traffic lights in Japan both in Kyoto and Tokyo. I think the weirdest part of this story that isn’t talked about in the article is that Japan doesn’t seem to have any regulation or consistency defining which shade of blu

My memory form my time living in Japan is that they do not have a consistent shade of blue/green that their traffic lights conform to. You will see completely different colors depending on the location, and even see different colors wi

There’s an indie dev making an immersive sim inspired by Die Hard rn. It’s been in development for years. It’s called Skin Deep.

Maybe but one single disaster due to failure to comply with regulations would more than wipe out that increase in revenue. We see this time and time again. The recent train derailment in Ohio is a great example of this.

Because people like the propaganda of the suburbs more than they like looking at hard numbers. The entire American dream is based on the notion of suburban car-centric infrastructure: each family a single unit home with a lawn and a car. We

I think you’re confused here. The $50 group (Group C) is the control group. That sum was chosen because it was assumed it wouldn’t actually meaningfully change their lives, and therefore we can use their response as a baseline for how to ju

I don’t see anything in your comment that makes me think congestion toll is a bad idea. NYC infrastructure can’t maintain increased traffic and we shouldn’t build out to accommodate it. If you need to get into manhattan, just use public tra
