Very nice write up that demonstrates the difference between theory and practice.

Oh, how cute Google. It really is a smoke screen for Evil Corp.

Frankly it’s a bit confusing. Some wrapper around qemu and firecracker. This is what I gathered from this link after 5 minutes of skimming.

What is the isolation mechanism in kata containers that make them on par with VMs?

Very cool. And I agree about Godot. Small suggestion if you could make the crt less blurred it would be an improvement.

Yeah, verification is needed. A malicious gateway can be passed in via env for example. There should be another optional argument that also verifies the contents vs the hash.

How about accounting, would anyone recommend a modern open source accounting system that would be better than in-house?

Awesome project. Will try it. I can see how it can be useful and fun to use it in remote ssh sessions. When DOS was a thing I just used Norton Commander. But with linux the state of existing file managers made me get used to working in plai

Good point about having a history of changes. It could be interesting to have a git repo as one of the backup backends.

Yes this seems like a robust solution that is very close to what I want. I think that in this case DropBox can be replaced with RClone that syncs to a few different clouds in a loop once every say 10 sec - from a bash script or something. T

Sounds exciting. I haven’t figured yet how I can make use of riscv but my hands are scratching and I’m an avid debian user. Anyone here does interesting hobby projects with riscv hardware?
