Cool project! I wonder which kind of organizations adopt tools of this kind? How does this play in the long run with maintenance and upgrades? It would be great to hear from someone that ran such thing for a few years and has some insights

Just wanted to note that maybe “traditional” isn’t the most accurate description. They are used not because of a tradition but rather due to mountains of legacy code. And, eventually everything boils down to specific requirements and tasks

The complexity of an async lib/framework such as i.e. projectreactor stems from that your code stops being linear. And so is the dataflow. This is the core of the issue. You trade simplicity for performance. Using futures you can still

The biggest win by far IMHO is a performant alternative for io intensive applications for async frameworks. Not using an async framework tremendously simplifies your code. Code complexity has an enormous projection on everything else, espec

Well, it was a complete disaster, by all means and measures. A good thing to remember while reading the rubbish flowing out of these intellectual idiots. Proven to be idiots by history - a title that should be written beside their name.

The real fun begins when you deploy a release build in production and it occasionally crashes with something related to concurrency and memory management;-)

I use systemd and I like it. Because it works. Every question that pops up I can easily find the answer by googling.

Of course, like many others in this thread I strongly disagree. We are talking here of 20 years that Linux desktop has been mostly standing in place (and going backwards as well). I’ve used Linux in the 90’ and the early 2000’ so I remembe

Mark is not the subject. He is speaking of Rust and memory safety. I agree with him in general, that if a project requires C/c++ kind of capabilities then better to use Rust. But, if one doesn’t require Rust then I think one must avoid

Btw, I’d like cf to have a feature that will prevent anyone (including cf) from viewing my traffic. Is this in plans? I want the protection of cf but don’t want to sacrifice privacy of my customers data..
