So far, security has always let me leave my laptop inside a thin sleeve, I just put a sticker on the sleeve and send it through.

Had no idea Find My did this. I always leave it off for privacy reasons, but I'm realizing thats probably not worth it.

Not at all into cryptography, but I did some research last time this was posted. Came to the conclusion that the only chance anyone has would involve: a) Hunting down and interviewing retired NSA employees b) Spending something like 12K (th

If none of the board is industry, and none of the major shareholders are industry, why would they hire industry? Finance is becoming the only job that exists.

I couldn't disagree more. If someone turned it off tomorrow I'd barely notice.

Seems like you'd need to spend 12K in server cost if you wanted to find this in any reasonable amount of time.

Depends on the job I'm sure, but genuinely only have 3 good hours too. After 5-6, I may as well just not be working. I'm writing garbage code and I'm grumpy.

Everyone hates yaml and I mostly agree. Should we start using something else? At least in the context of CI, I find .INI a little lacking, and TOML has similar gotcha's as yaml. At the very least its single-line restrictions frustratin

Oh god. I had to "learn" a Shopify-to-NetSuite integration tool, which effectively means learn shopify, learn Netsuite, and then learn this shitty tool which does nothing but connect inputs and outputs with zero explanation. Miser

DOD must have plenty of assurance that Musk isn't a significant part of the equation. The dude brings so much risk with him.

These have been fully debunked. They're panic attacks. The cops are having genuine reactions, but not from the drug.

Also: This seems like such an obvious quality of life update. Is there a reason Chrome is dragging their feet? What about bun/deno? This could be a huge differentiator for them.

I'm currently procrastinating my task of migrating an entire frontend from MomentJS to date-fns. I hate dates, and I hate this work. I would be overjoyed if we get a standard. Funnily enough, date-fns-tz is MUCH worse than moment-timez

Only slightly related anecdote, happened just last week: My 90 year old family member is having their bathroom renovated. 5 shoebox-sized packages arrive at like 4am, labeled "Shower Door". My relative gets up very early, so they

Mode Envoy, all copper internals. Not 400$, but with extra switches and keycaps its around there. I love the look and feel. The sound is a little thin, and I find the "lattice block" mounting system to be basically irrelevant mark

In a way, I don't even consider floating point errors to be "flaws" with an algorithm like this. If the code defines a logical, mathematically correct solution, then its "right". Solving floating point errors is a s

For the real luxury stuff, there aren't great options for a 95%+ layout. And they're typically more expensive without being as "high quality". The luxury keyboard world is very focused on small form factor. The only time

I splurged and bought a 400$ keyboard. Its so stupid and I love it so much. It feels like a piece of heavy machinery. I'd say the mechanicalkeyboard crowd is a little more unhealthy. People in that world drop thousands a year on keyboa

It'd be cool if there was another view that showed the relative size of each subsection, by lines of code. I don't really have an intuition about what most of the code is doing.
