Yeah. I have been using it only for the past 3 months. Works pretty well with VoLTE, SMS/MMS, Visual Voicemail, Calls, internet. I second just reaching out to their support, they have been pretty good at helping to fix things, even obs

I'm confused. `apt-get upgrade` doesn't remove packages. `apt-get dist-upgrade` tells you what packages it will remove and has you confirm that you want those packages removed before you proceed. https://www.debian.org&

Heh, anecdotally, on two of my previous phones, the USB-C port failed on me in the exact manner to describe. Since I couldn't take the phone apart without destroying it, the phone was then effectively useless. I never had that issue wi

I personally tell you that the full time Purism devs were instrumental in helping me port MMS/VVM to Phosh/Chatty (without their help, MMS/VVM would not exist for Mobile Linux) and they have gone well beyond what I would expe

> considering the new competition with the Pinephone Pro that's coming out Heh, with how the developers cooperate, you would never know there was competition. But seriously, if you do want to fund Mobile Linux, buy a Librem 5. Puris

When I used a Pixel 3a with LineageOS, I recall never having to think about battery life unless I didn't plug it in overnight, and even then, it would survive just fine for a second day, it would just be at like 20-30%?

No, that is likely not a mistake. The battery life on my Librem 5 is ~8 hours for me on standby with the Modem/Wifi on, I can probably get a bit longer without wifi on. With moderate usage, I would say it drops to ~5-6 hours? But I hav

The Pinephone Pro's software support is will a WIP. It mostly works, but there are still quite a few quirks before I would feel comfortable using at as a daily driver. (For comparision, I have no qualms using a Pinephone or Librem 5 as

I'm glad to hear MMS works so well for you! Usually other than my own usage, I don't hear too often about folks for whom it works for, usually only issues or help supporting it. Chatty used to use a libpurple plugin, but the dev r

You could probably ask their support, they are very good at responding. That being said, they use coreboot and hardware with open/well known drivers. I actually bought a Librem 14 and installed Windows on it for my spouse, and surprisi

If possible, could the title be modified to spell out what "PoS" means? PoS aliases to "Piece of S***" and "Point of Sale", both of which give the headline a bit of a different impression on what to expect. Tho

Yeah that is my understanding too. You REALLY don't want a hold time violation, as you have to go in and edit the chip circuitry to fix that.

I mean...in my mind, that raises more questions. All of the "Additional Cool stuff" to be implies that it was fabbed out on mpw-1 and they have tested it. Why take a random image then if you have die shots or a picture of the GDS?

According to this website: MPW-1 had a hold time violation in it's clock tree, so the RISC-V is unusable. https://www.zerotoasiccourse.com/post/mpw1-bringup/

I would ask, what is it you want to do? Linux phone development is more or less the same as linux development, just with a computer that has a smaller screen and a modem.
