I am. I have used a Pinephone with Mobian daily for a while, I am currently using a Librem 5 with PureOS. I only turned on my Android phone once since December, and that was to factory reset it since I wasn't using it.

Heh, I rememeber the last time I bought from Newegg, I bought a Motherboard + RAM combo, and when I went to assemble my PC, it would not boot. After a long time searching, it turned out the RAM + Motherboard combo I had was the reason. When

Second this advice. Some of my favorite classes that I took were electives where the professor was passionate about the subject. I even got an offer to go on an archaeology trip over the summer (which I sadly had to decline as I accepted an

Aside from clean room reverse engineering, I do not think there is anyway to actually replace that. One can wipe and reformat the ADSP, but to my knowledge, if the source code is out there, it is certainly leaed proprietary source code.

I think the ARM core on that is pretty weak even compared to the A64 (and certainly compared to the RK3399 of the PPP!). So while possible, I think it is pretty infeasible. That and I think everything is wired to the main CPU anyways.

At the end of the day, if a university gives out grades, there has to be some sort of objective way of handing out a grade. What I have seen for the good courses is it is a mixture of exams, projects, and homework. Some students are very go

heh, I actually had this discussion with the professor I an TAing for. The (graduate) class is entirely a class project (it is an ASIC design class), and, if you finish the class project (you can tape out your chip), you get an A. We have a

To offer a different perspective a bit: For every person who desires to learn for it, there are also folks who want to do as little as possible and see no issue with just copying solutions to turn into homework. This includes groups who hol

Thankfully, the Pinephone community has stepped up and made a FOSS firmware (mainly biktorgi, thank you!): https://github.com/Biktorgj/pinephone_modem_sdk/releases It still uses the ADSP from Quectel, but from my

Assuming you use Linux, this should work as a 2FA app: https://git.sr.ht/~martijnbraam/numberstation/ I use it on my Pinephone, but it works on my laptop too.

Honestly, if you use wordpress for the basic functionality and don't install plugins, it's pretty nice. You got a fully functional blog, you can give non-technical users a login and they know how to use it too. You do have to be r

The Pinephone Pro is much faster, and I wouldn't call it "slow" at all. However, the Pinephone Pro does not have as mature drivers/kernel/etc. as the OG Pinephone, so I think trying to compare battery life at this p

AFAIK most devs cross-compile on a beefy machine then debug in the Pinephone (or have some fancy configuration to do it automatically). I personally develop/compile/debug all on phone (but I know I am an outlier in that regard).
