I would assume each would happen inside the BT chip and inside the modem, respectively.

That's good to see! If I remember right, the last Google Phone with mainline support was a Nexus 5.

I'd say both are about the same. The Librem 5 physically puts the Modem and Wifi/BT modules on a physical card, where the PinePhone make it all into a single board. I believe both have the same physical/logical seperation (i.

It is, however, a lot more open than most ARM Single board computers and ARM phones. Most ARM Phones/SBCs cannot run mainline Linux, and due to closed drivers, will likely never be able to. You in addition have Phones with locked bootl

To tack on, they also have a very annoying penchant for changing my boot order on major updates. I dual boot Windows and Linux and default to Linux. Every major update, it defaults to Windows first.

Heh, Firefox doesn't have that problem at all. I don't think I have pulled more than 1 GB on it? But then again I usually only have 10-20 tabs open at the most.

For reference, I have a Thinkpad x200 with 8 GB of RAM (it has an Intel Core 2 Duo). I installed Debian with XFCE, and it idles at 300 MB of Ram, and I have yet to use more than 1.5 GB of RAM. I say that to say I think 4 GB of RAM is plenty

Possibly, but that still defaults back to brute forcing a long passphrase with a salt. If guessing the passphrase goes above a certain entropy and Apple derives the password with a key stretching algorithm, then the timeouts won't matt

For a different thought of how to do it, I self-host a Wordpress site that is essentially a diary. However, right now the scope is to keep track of recipes that I have made, if I liked them, and where I found them. While I could have made a

Frankly, I would prefer the ability to install what I want. Just because what is on the phone boots what I bought doesn't mean I want it on there. I think the objective of Project Treble was also to allow that to be much easier as well

Can you unlock the bootloadr and load your own ROMs for Android one phones?

This assumes you can unlock the bootloader and make an AOSP build.

Heh, it's funny you say that. I just broke my phone and had to go get a new one. I was holding out for the PinePhone/Librem 5 to be useful enough that I wouldn't need another Android device. The cheapest device that I trusted

I don't think it's very nuanced. The paragrpah in question is: The story for Type 2 diabetes is a bit more complicated. Obesity and inactivity play huge roles in the risk for the disease, but genetics are also a factor, even more

I feel like the article comingles Type 1 and Type 2 a bit too much. My understanding is that although symptoms/pathology is similar, treatments between the two are very different.

Thankfully it isn't quite that simple for electronics in the US. If it is sold commericially, it has to be registered with the FCC. In this way, you at least know if it has WiFi, LTE, etc, and can see the module that is installed on it

I have a lot of bacon grease, but I have only used it in cornbread. I'll have to see where I can substitute it (per my earlier comment, bacon fat flour tortillas now sound very good).

To be honest, I didn't know there was a difference. I was more looking for a substitute for shortening, which I think clarified butter can do? Or just ghee?
