Disagree vehemently with the idea that long variable names equate to bad API design. The more descriptive your naming, the better your design and the less comments you require.

This product has been out for a little while, but its the first time I've come across it. They are still in beta (no pricing listed yet), but I especially like the fact that the turnaround time is so low.

It would be nice to actually use this from a text-editor. Maybe git integration? Auto-pull/commit in the web-GUI and standard git sync commands locally.

Can't sites like this provide a transcript or a summary in addition to the video? This is the Internet… I don't have time to stop and watch dozens of minutes of video for a few hundred words worth of information.

My issue has always been one of muscle memory. The hjkl keys are fine to use when in Vim, but the majority of other products (browsers, word processors, spreadsheets, etc) don't support them for movement. So I have a constant context-switch

I know a lot of people seem to have jumped on the backup options of Glacier here and, whilst there is some potential for home users to make use of this product for back, that is not what Glacier is intended for. Glacier is an archive pr

1 x retrieval request per archive (it's really designed to store a small number of large files/tars) plus $0.12/GB... therefore, 4TB = $480.

Given it takes 3.5-4 hours to retrieve a backup before you can download it, probably not.

by kondro 14y ago
Home-use is probably the only situation Glacier is good for backup though. A home user is fine with a 3.5-4 hour window before their backup becomes available for download (as it will probably take them days to download it anyway). In a corp

What an interesting idea. Surely this must take advantage of some in-font scripting… if I remember correctly there is some type of ECMAScript variant inside OpenType.
