the OS won't let you do that reliably unless the user also keeps opening the app. background processing is heavily limited for the right reasons.

FB does not do business in China. This is rather a risk for Apple given they store keys in the cloud and do business there fwiw. I agree it’s a risk for almost all other countries.

that's incorrect. WhatsApp is end to end encrypted using the signal technology as confirmed by moxie. are you suggesting Facebook tricked the signal team into believing that WhatsApp is using end to end encryption when it isn't?

it is not only due to quotas. there is BS request for evidence as well as random changes. for example, they added some disease to the process (I believe gonorrhea or syphilis) and then the exam I took entering the process wasn't suffi
