I don’t mind the Touch Bar volume control, you just don’t lift your finger and drag the icon. Same for screen brightness. My only gripe is that my 16” MBP gets so hot using the touch bar burns my finger.

I upgraded my original Switch to the revamped model with the new SoC a couple of years ago. GameStop were offering a really great trade in which cost €50 for the new model. It basically boiled down to a €50 100% battery life boost, and ne

It’s a real jack of all trades, instead of moving media from package to package, such as animating something in Maya and combining with a camera track in After Effects, you can do it all in Blender. With the recent Eevee real time renderer

There are some really good YouTubers that do great tutorials that are fully up to date. A lot of them might not be entirely child friendly (sweary language) depending on your daughter’s age.

That’s the funny thing about Blender. Beginner tutorials are painfully slow for anyone who’s anyway familiar with the software. These videos and those by CG matter adopt this really fast style be use that how the work flow goes.

The point is that two empty loops should not be let run the CPU to 100%. But yes, the concept is nice at least. I agree on NÍ hardware, it’s very solid. I’ve had good success using session based control with Matlab and also with Python.

I really like the node based workflow used by Blender for creating materials, compositing and now for generating geometry. This is where I think visual programming works best, realtime interactive tweaking of something actually visual. It&#

I was working on a so called finless cooler around the time this first rose to prominence. The idea was that a toroidal vortex would give better heat transfer than a lot of fins subject to viscous shear. Our cooler was simply a folded alumi

One of the better tutorials I remember was for the Blood Dragon Far Cry 3 expansion. It’s a tongue in cheek riff on 80’s action movies and games and the tutorial is silly fun because of it. Not the first game to make a joke of its tutorial

I mean start from scratch as much as possible and rethink how a computer is used by most people. By all means keep Windows around for enterprise but build a new OS that is forward looking and eschews backwards compatibility when virtualisat

That’s why I qualified with a comment on an LTS version of Windows. Keep something around for the next decade (or two) that keeps old hardware running. Allow virtualisation for everyone else. It does seem that Apple’s approach of aggressive

Microsoft really needs to consider building a completely new OS that doesn’t have the legacy issues that plague Windows 10. It feels like the paint cracks off as you root around each generation of interface. By all means keep a LTS version

I haven’t had data allowances that low in years. I pay €10 per month for an ‘unlimited’ SIM only plan. The fair usage limit is 120GB per month.

I’ve recently started to use Autodesk’s Fusion 360. It’s an abomination! It’s so user hostile and constantly getting in the way of getting work done. Years ago (2001 ish) when I first started to learn CAD I used PTC’s Pro/Desktop. It’s
