Not me, the devs that like strong typing in general (there are ones even better than me). See https://twitter.com/JulienTruffaut/status/107325836942585856...

Re @ascorbic, dude that works for me, but not for the vast majority of devs out there. strict should be default! I don't want to come to a team and start evangelising or fixing their fucking compiler errors which could take me ages.

It's funny, I think the features it has that allow "incremental adoption" are the ones that make decent developers stay away from it.

Yeah but a decent tsc configuration is not default, so many people are still writing shitty typescript.

I much prefer TypeScript than JavaScript, but TS can still allow shitty code, such as: * Using the type 'any'. * Using the immediate value `undefined` (JS is mental in the fact that it has two kinds of null... and with TS there&#x

Ethereum Classic is not a fork. It's precisely called classic because it's ETH the one that forked out of it.

I disagree, the main issue of fiat is centralization (which means single point of issuance and thirdparty intervention). Bitcoin solves both beautifully.

Exchanges are not just to gamble. Imagine you start using MimbleWimble in your daily life: e.g. you're a freelancer and you decide you want to get paid in Grin. At some point you will need to convert your Grin to fiat currency just to

When you compared ZCash and MimbleWimble, you forgot to mention that the latter doesn't need a trusted setup like the former needed.

Not sure exactly how HN works, but I'm guessing this happened due to high number of downvotes. I just upvoted him and the comment is not dead anymore, though.

FYI a Mono dev removed those old statements about AOT+generics from the page because he agreed with me that they were outdated.

Right, maybe the best way to figure out its completeness is just testing it. AOT has received a lot of love these days, the runtime accepts many flags when dealing with it, e.g. "fullaot".

Mono 2.0 is ancient, nowadays the version is 5.16. That webpage is not worth looking at.

Yeah, the fact that Mono is inheriting all BCL code from .NETCore nowadays, but is still not .NETCore (because it has its own runtime) is a bit confusing. That being said, the best/easiest way to use .NET in the Mac is just install &qu

AOT not supporting generics? that's a pretty bad reading/summary of the webpage you link to (not to mention, that page may be a bit outdates, and more cases are supported by AOT now; take in account this is the mode that iOS apps

I didn't say that C# doesn't have support for multithreading, I said that C#+multithreading is more prone to race-conditions than F#+multithreading.
