This is pretty well covered in this presentation: http://www.slideshare.net/fehguy/migrating-from-mysql-to-mon... A few unanswered questions (sharding? Looks like none to me), but a good bit of numbers and specifics on their current setup

Using a combo of the append-only file[1] and a redis slave[2] you'll get about the best durability one can ask for in today's world (assuming you're aware of the gotchas with regard to expiring keys — an edge case). [1] http://code.google.

What do you want to learn from your analytics? Remember that Google Analytics is just a tool — the hardest part of using a tool "efficiently" is asking the right questions, and right now it sounds like you don't have any questions.

I'm curious where you see any limits for legitimate usage on GitHub. Or perhaps I've made this blurb on our pricing page ambiguous? http://share.kyleneath.com/captures/Plans___Pricing_-_GitHub... I'd love to hear how I could improve it. E

As I recall, your account got suspended because of this and suddenly became extremely apologetic when you realized you needed your account for work the next day. There's a big difference between a security hole and acting like a jackass.

I think you'd be wise to talk to a lot of people that work at these companies. A huge portion of Apple/Yahoo/Google employees live in the city or some equally far-away place in the East Bay. Each of these companies (and others) send in f

I've found that I fall into the "not playing with enough money" camp. The difference between the "gotta start somewhere" attitude of software development is trading costs money. I found I was consistently making 20-30% returns, but after t
