The feature has actually been live for a month (or two?). We just haven't had much UI pointing to it, so it's very likely you have seen it before. The fork queue doesn't show diffs or commit comments, or differences between branches on the

Remember, we are some of our biggest customers. We use GitHub every day to build GitHub - from hosting the code there, to using the wiki for planning, to issues for bug tracking, to code review — everything. Also remember that we are owner

Would you mind clarifying that for me? We definitely do not intend to do that in any way possible. For example, here is my profile page, logged out: http://share.kyleneath.com/captures/kneath_s_Profile_-_GitHu... There shouldn't be any e

Reminds me a lot of OfficePOD ( http://www.officepod.co.uk/ ) I still love this idea, though I see it more as an awesome workspace out in my backyard that I could escape to, not so much as something I'd want in my office. Can't say I'm sold

My excitement for the tools I use is directly proportional to the excitement I have for a product. For example: over the past 4 years, I've all but abandoned all of my PHP projects in favor of my Rails projects. Because Rails is far more in

It must be a very boring life to purposefully work with uninteresting technologies. It may sound selfish, but I'd never make that decision. When I'm interested in what I'm working on, I build a better product. I'll sacrifice a few 9's any

The only XSS vulnerability in the code is the ability to XSS yourself, which you can do with any browser with a javascript console. Unless of course you're using Javascript to parse user generated markdown instead of doing it server-side, w

I don't think Gruber's upset that Google isn't open about these things — it's more than they claim to be open about everything, but clearly aren't. He's calling Rosenberg out on his propaganda-like march of "Google is always open no matt

Remember that until iPhone OS 2.0, we didn't have: CSS Animations or HTML5 local-storage stuff. So it's really not that likely.

I'm pretty frustrated with this as well. I've been using Chromium for a while now, and I can't use this Beta because it doesn't share bookmarks, or allow me to import from Chromium, or even move/delete the existing bookmarks. Guess I'll ke

As you noted, most captchas are crackable. This is the reason we have decided not to implement one. It's common thought that captchas reduce spam -- which they do -- but they do so by reducing total signups (human and robot). Personally, I

I guess the way I see it, if you have processes taking more than 30 seconds, and need to be run more than once an hour... you definitely need a full worker. That's only 120 operations/hr to fill up your worker to 100% capacity (which is a b

Quite honestly, the comments on that thread just don't make sense. People are claiming they want half (or less) of one worker. That's the equivalent of saying you want half a friend — there are some things you just can't split up. Chances

This seems like a good effort, but I think I'll stick with the tried and true ack-in-project http://github.com/protocool/ack-tmbundle No beachballs, and you get the crazy awesome speed of ack.

I don't know about it being that difficult. It's stressful -- definitely. The thing I've noticed about San Francisco is the best apartments aren't available in advance. They go on the market a week or so before they're ready to move in

I've never run into any kind of problem like that here in SF. I do find that landlords say they "need" all of these crazy things but in reality all they care about is a deposit and first month's rent. The first person to hand that to them

You can do that with GitHub already. Just go to the repository -> admin -> service hooks and set up the email one. Here's a pic of the screen: http://share.kyleneath.com/captures/Service_Hooks_for_kneath...

My personal distinction: - A website is just that. A website on the internet, usually consisting of HTML, CSS, Images and Javascript. - A startup is a venture to start a profitable company. For a website to be considered a startup, there ha
